Second CircularFebruary, 2012 First CircularFebruary, 2012 Second AnnouncementJanuary, 2012 First AnnouncementJanuary 18, 2012 The Laboratório Nacional de Astrofísica (LNA/MCTI) and Instituto Nacionais de Ciência e Tecnologia de Astrofísica (INCTA), together with the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST), are pleased to announce the 'Science with LSST: Brazilian/USA joint Workshop', to be held in Campos do Jordão, state of São Paulo, Brazil, from April 1 to 4, 2012. This workshop intends to provide plentyof information and discussions to the brazilian astronomers and computer scientsts understand the scientific and technological possibilities of this project and foster the discussions about the possibility of Brazil to join the LSST partnership. The workshop is open to astronomers and computer scientists (targeted more specifically to Brazilian and US scientists but we welcome colleagues from other countries) interested in knowing the LSST possibilities on astronomy and software and large survey databases science and development. There will be time for oral presentations from scientists working on the workshop themes of science and development of large astronomical surveys and databases. Contributions will also be accepted also in poster format. Presentation is not required for Brazilian astronomers to apply for funding support. INCTA will provide funding for a large number of Brazilian scientist to attend the meeting. Presetation is not required for Brazilian scientists or students who intend to ask for financial support.
