São
José dos Campos (SJdC)
SJdC is currently the 4th largest city in the state of
São Paulo and the largest and most important in the
Paraíba Valley. SJC is one of the largest industrial and
technological centers of the country and the home of well known
research centers, such as the Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais
(
INPE
),
the Comando-Geral de Tecnologia Aeroespacial (
DCTA
), the Instituto
Tecnológico da Aeronáutica (
ITA
),
the Instituto de Estudos Avançados (
IEA
), the Universidade Estadual Paulista (
UNESP
), the
Universidade Federal de São Paulo (
UNIFESP
), and the Universidade do Vale do Paraíba (
UNIVAP
).
SJdC is also the home of
EMBRAER
(Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica), the 4th largest
aircraft company in the world, and many other technological and
electronics industries, totaling more than 700 companies.
Typical temperatures in October are about
16.5°C (minimum) to 26°C (maximum).
As a city with a strong social diversity, SJC has many
different options to hang out at night, especially at weekends. Ranging
from country music bars to an (almost) authentic Irish pub, you can
find good restaurants, snack bars and night clubs near the hotel. If
you’re interested, we recommend to call a taxi at the hotel
lobby. Taxi fares are not expensive, as the distances are not long
within SJC.
