Resumo: |
From a number of today known Post Common Envelopes Binaries (PCEB) only a
handful has yet been observed at near-infrared (NIR) wavelenghts and an even
smaller number has modeled NIR light curves. At shorter wavelenghts one has
access to the cooler and larger components of these systems and the chance to
detect its pail and heavely irradiated secondaries. By modeling NIR light
curves of PCEBs we intent to constrain its system parameters and study the
properties of the system components. Here we present simultaneous NIR JHKs
light curves of a sample of PCEBs obtained with the 4 m SOAR telescope. For
this work we have selected 3 systems from a previously selected sample of 8
PCEBs. KV Vel and TW Crv are long period (8.6h and 7.9h, respectively) PCEBs
with large irradiation effects. The results of light curve fitting provided
solutions in agreement with previous studies of the systems with i =
(47±5)o
and q = 0.30±0.1 and radius of the secondary of r2 =
24+0.05-0.03 (in terms of orbital
separation) for KV Vel and i = 41.9±9 and q = 0.28±0.04 with
r2 = 0.22±0.01
for TW Crv, respectively. For KV Vel, we obtain an average value for the
albedo of the secondary star of alpha
= 0.69. For TW Crv, on the other hand, we
obtain two possible solutions depending on the adopted temperature for the
primary and secondary stars. Finally, we present NIR light curves of LTT 560.
Unfortunatelly, the photometric erros of our light curves is of the order of
the amplitude of the modulation caused by the distorted secondary and we
were not possible to find a solution for the system parameters. Moreover,
previously published system parameters fit well with our data.
