Título: |
On the differences between the optical and radio positions of ICRF2 sources
|
Resumo: |
The current IAU's fundamental celestial frame is the second realization of
the International Celestial Reference Frame - ICRF2. It contains a few
thousands of very precise positions of extragalactic objects, as determined
by VLBI techniques. However, only selected 295 such objects are used to
define the fundamental directions. The others have consistent positions
with the defining ones and are important to densify the frame. From o
bservations of a set of ICRF2 sources with SOAR/SOI we show that some large
optical/VLBI position differences are just a consequence of the source's
physical nature.
