| Título: | A simultaneous multi-band CCD camara with polarimetric capability for LNA |
| Resumo: | We propose to build a new instrument for the 1.6-m Perkin-Elmer and 0.60-m Boller & Chivens telescopes of Observatório do Pico dos Dias/Laboratório Nacional de Astrofísica (OPD/LNA). It is a CCD camera, with an optional polarimetric mode, able to obtain simultaneous multi-band images with time resolution of at least 1 second. The instrument should be designed to have a minimum field of view of 5 x 5 arcmin2 in the 1.6-m telescope. This instrument can be used to collect differential photometry, polarimetry, and astrometry data. These techniques allow an optimized use of the OPD site given its average atmospheric conditions. The instrument will increase the efficiency of OPD in producing high quality science data and could be a highly demanded instrument among the present options at the observatory. |
